Of Montreal share weird LP details
By Aly Barchi | Published on Friday 12 July 2013
Of Montreal are to follow last year’s ‘Paralytic Stalks’ with a new LP, ‘Lousy With Sylvianbriar’. I have no idea what that title means. Perhaps it’ll all be clarified on 7 Oct, aka the date ‘Lousy With Sylvianbriar’ (no, still nothing) is released. Perhaps.
oM’s Kevin Barnes did tell us something about the album though, if not the title: “I knew I wanted the process to be more in line with the way people used to make albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s. I wanted to work fast and to maintain a high level of spontaneity and immediacy. I wanted the songs to be more lyric driven, and for the instrumental arrangements to be understated and uncluttered”.
