Kanye West producer Mike Dean has signed a global publishing deal with Warner/Chappell, covering his entire songwriting catalogue.
The President of the publisher’s North American operations Jon Platt said of the news: “Few producers have the talent to sustain a career as long, diverse and prolific as Mike’s. From Tupac to Kanye and everyone in between, Mike has helped great artists define new sounds. He’s always innovating, not only within hip hop, but across pop music in general. We’re thrilled to be on his team”.
Dean added: “I am excited to work with Warner/Chappell and Big Jon on expanding my musical palate, and be able to continue to innovate and push music forward”.
As well as West, Dean has contributed to work by Lorde, Beyonce, Jay-Z, and is credited with developing the ‘Dirty South’ sound in the 1990s with artists such as Tupac Shakur and Nate Dogg.
