Radio Today to launch radio station about radio stations
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 7 January 2016
Radio Today has announced the launch of a new radio station aimed at people who work in or are interested in radio. Called inRadio, it will focus on the inner workings of the radio industry and its programming, meaning you can know what’s going on with radio all around the world without having to actually listen to any of it. Apart from this one station, obviously.
The new venture will broadcast from Radio Today’s London HQ, pulling in a number of existing radio industry podcasts as well as new and archive content from the UK, US, Australia and Europe. It will apparently be available “from 24 hours a day” when it goes live, suggesting that there will be occasions when it’s on air for longer.
“It’s always puzzled me why the radio industry doesn’t have a radio station of its own”, says Radio Today founder Roy Martin. “Even dogs have their own radio station!”
“inRadio will be full of parody songs, spoof commercials and highlight the best of radio around the world”, he adds, possibly solving his own puzzle.
The new station will launch at 10am on 16 Feb.
