The full programme for Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival will go ahead pretty much as planned later this month, despite one of its outdoor stages burning down earlier this week.

The stage on Spielbudenplatz on the Reeperbahn street from which the festival takes its name apparently caught fire in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Performances planned for the site will now be moved to a neighbouring stage.

“All events will take place as planned”, festival MD Alexander Schulz told Festival Insights. “After the situation has been assessed by the fire department and the building authorities we will discuss with the Spielbudenplatz operating company how to handle the ruin on the west side. The fire has no negative effects on the event as a whole”.

Reeperbahn takes place across various venues in Hamburg from 23-26 Sep.
