And Finally
Richards denies threatening and hitting Swedish journo
By CMU Editorial | Published on Friday 12 November 2010
Now, we all know you’ve been going around the place telling people that Keith Richards recently hit a Swedish journalist in the head after learning the hack had given the Rolling Stones a bad review in 2007. But, kind Sir, you are mistaken. Or so says Richards’ people, who claim he gave writer Markus Larsson a playful tap on the head after he started asking dumb ass questions.
As previously reported, when describing Larsson’s meeting with Richards this week, Sweden’s Aftonbladet newspaper wrote: “The meeting ended with the rock star threatening Markus Larsson and hitting him in the head, before telling the journalist: ‘You’re lucky to get out of here alive'”.
But a spokesman for the Stones man has told Rolling Stone magazine: “At the conclusion of the 20 minute interview Keith Richards jokingly tapped the journalist on the head after his questions got a bit silly. From the people in the room during the interview they would suggest that the writer has allowed his imagination to get the better of him”.
I’m 100% behind Richards’ version of events on this one. Well, you have to be really, don’t you, especially when you’re a journalist, otherwise Keith will just hit you in the face.
