“Rod is rubbish”: Mick Hucknall attempts to appease Faces fans

Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall, who is currently standing in for Rod Stewart as frontman of The Faces, who reunited this year, has attempted to calm fans who would rather see the band with their original singer. He did this by announcing that he is much better at singing and Rod would just ruin it. Well, maybe I’m paraphrasing a little. But that is what he said.
Hucknall reportedly told the Daily Express: “It’s a shame that Rod can’t do it but then Rod isn’t the Rod of 1973. Those songs, the keys are so high and it’s pretty intense staying at that kind of pitch for the whole night”
