Rudimental fund Malawi school expansion
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 14 December 2015
Money raised by Rudimental has been used to open a new block at the Mkhunku School, the first entirely self-sustainable school in Malawi. The third block at the facility will enable the teaching of a further 200 children from the area.
The money was raised for sustainable development charity Love Support Unite as part of its Love Specs campaign. Rudimental had their own branded heart-shaped glasses which were distributed at shows, including at their headline performance at the Wild Life festival in Brighton.
“We support Love Support Unite because they are an honest charity who work from the grassroots up”, says Rudimental’s Piers Aggett. “They help build schools and provide energy and resources in a place like Malawi where they are needed most”.
The Rudimental block of the Mkhunku School was officially opened on 1 Dec.
