SoundCloud hits one million users
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 19 May 2010
Another landmark now, not quite as high as Shazam’s 75 million users or 1 billion songs, but these guys are much younger. Audio streaming service SoundCloud yesterday welcomed the one millionth registered user to its website.
The music preview service of choice for an ever growing number of artists and labels, some reckon SoundCloud could eventually take over from MySpace in this domain, especially if the flagging social network platform bites the dust. And as more and more high profile artists use the site to promote new material and offer free track downloads, that prophecy looks more likely.
