Single Review: The Dandy Warhols – Mis Amigos (Beat The World Records)
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 8 December 2008
Perhaps a little more credit is due to this four-piece garage rock outfit – they’ve been around for fifteen years now and are probably best known (in the UK, anyway) for “that song on the mobile phone advert”. They are no strangers to having their tunes used in just about every American tween TV drama and, let’s not forget, have even been featured in their very own “crazy” documentary – like, totally rock and roll, man. All friendly jesting aside though, The Dandy Warhols have popped out some banging tunes over the past decade and a half – and you can bet your bottom dollar that this is one of them. Frantic and fuzzy, ‘Mis Amigos’ is a wicked concoction of sexy Courtney Taylor-Taylor’s signature rumbling vocals (did I mention sexy?) and shaky-shaky sounds borrowed from what feels like a classic Spaghetti Western. ‘Mis Amigos’ has fan favourite written all over it. Mmm, yes please. TW
