The Horrors light up Luminous new LP

It’s official: The Horrors’ fourth LP, the band’s first since 2011’s ‘Skying’, is called ‘Luminous’, and will come out on 5 May. Congratulations all round.

Talking to the NME about the album’s title in particular, Faris Badwan said: “It’s a powerful image: giving off light and releasing energy. It sums up a lot of the ways we make music. One thing that’s always been central to the band is that we’ve kept the same level of intensity since the beginning”.

Still chatting away, Faris added this of the ‘Luminous’ sound at large: “This is the album I’ve been most excited about releasing. I think it would be misleading to say it’s got more guitars or more synths, because half the time the guitars sound like synths anyway. Is it fair to say there’s more of everything?”

Yes, I’d say it’s fair. More than fair, in fact. And now it’s time to bathe in the blinding light of the LP’s lead single, ‘I See You’, which had its world’s first play last night thanks to BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe:
