TI makes amends by scaring teenagers

I’m not sure if this is some kind of community service, or, given its title, ‘TI’s Road To Redemption’, perhaps he’s looking to make amends with some higher authority than the US criminal justice system, but either way, rap star TI is filling the time between now and his upcoming prison sentence trying to scare misbehaving youngsters onto the right side of the law.

Which seems like a worthy pastime to me. Even if it does involve showing a teenage drug dealer a dead body on TV.

TI, who, as much previously reported, is due to serve one year in jail after pleading guilty to possessing various illegal firearms, is making the ‘Road To Redemption’ series for MTV. In the first episode he meets 18 year old drug dealer Pee Wee from his home town of Atlanta, and then tries his best to persuade the teen to stop his illegal ways.

In a bid to do this he locks Pee Wee in a police cell for a day and then takes him to the facility’s morgue to see the body of another teenager, who I am assuming was killed in some kind of drugs related crime. TI tells the teen: “This is the last stop for a hustler, baby”.

No word on whether the show will air over here. Presumably TI has a whole series already in the bag, given the aforementioned prison sentence begins next month.
