Usher speaks on son’s near drowning
By Aly Barchi | Published on Friday 9 August 2013
Usher has released a statement reacting to news of his son’s swimming accident earlier this week. The five year old, named Usher Raymond V, is said to have almost drowned in the pool at his father’s Atlanta home after catching his arm in a drain. In the care of his aunt at the time, Usher Jr was hospitalised after being freed and given CPR by workmen who happened to be on-site.
Sending especial thanks to the men, Usher Sr said: “I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s wellbeing. I would like to thank the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock”.
Meanwhile TMZ claims that Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Ramond, whom he divorced in 2009, is now seeking sole custody of Raymond’s two children following the incident.
