Approved: Kero Kero Bonito

Whilst they released their blink-and-miss ‘Intro’ mixtape (for the real first time) into a damp and rain-grey late-2013, London triplex Kero Kero Bonito are seizing their right to do it again (for the ‘first’ time this time) and will re-issue the EP in a much cuter summer universe via Double Denim on 25 Aug.
And this week – in which approved ‘Bipp’ hit-striker Sophie‘s new A/B-side ‘Lemonade’/’Hard’ is the sugary single on all the boys and girls’ lips – seems like the right time for KKB to slip in this refresher hint of their like-mindedly wink-wink kawaii stylings, which shine most blindingly bright on anti-‘girly’ poster hit ‘Sick Beat’, and the band’s self-hyping new single ‘Kero Kero Bonito’. J-pop snobs, look away now.
Kero Kero Bonito divide a live bill at London’s Power Lunches (on 16 Aug) with Micachu, Spinee and friends. Get tickets to go see them here.
